The Recovery Specialist
The recovery specialist works within a two-fold process of identification and management. Identification begins when a person presents an issue or multiple issues they are struggling with. The person’s insight observes and identifies, and this in turn leads to a greater awareness and understanding of the matter. The components of the issue also become apparent, and the working relationship highlights the tools and resources available to manage it.
When this happens, the process of management begins. Management outlines and acts the steps taken to achieve goals. For mental health recovery, identification and management can have many components. Each and every one of us has the ability to observe these components and decide whether they are beneficial or not.
The recovery specialist aims to assist the person as they journey through the two-fold process of identification and management. Including, cultivating an environment where the individual can explore however simple, or however complex these components may be, and witness the person insightfully determine the course of their own mental health.
